1. Acceptance of these terms
By using Recidle.com, including the daily game and Riff-Off (together, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live, or have a parent or guardian's permission.
2. What the Service is
Recidle is a free, browser-based trivia game for entertainment. It runs mostly in your own browser. There are no accounts, no prizes, no gambling and no real-money play.
3. Your use of the Service
You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to: copy, scrape or resell the Service or its question content; interfere with or overload the Service or its hosting; attempt to reverse engineer, bypass or tamper with it other than as the law allows; use bots or scripts to play or to alter scores; or use the Service to harass others, including through band names or shared links.
4. Band names and shared links
Band names, answers and results you enter or share (including Riff-Off challenge links) are created by you. You are responsible for them. Do not include personal information, offensive material or anything you do not have the right to share. Shared links contain the information you put in them, so share them only with people you want to see it.
5. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, artwork, characters, code, music and sound generation, and question packs, is the work of the operator and is protected by law where applicable. You receive a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to play it. You may share your result text and links to the site. Questions are written to use factual or public-domain subject matter; all other names mentioned belong to their owners and no endorsement is implied.
6. Trivia content and accuracy
Questions, accepted answers and rarity tiers are provided for fun. We do our best to be accurate but do not guarantee that any answer, ranking or score is complete, correct or up to date. A rarity tier or judge score is part of the game and is not a statement of fact or a measure of knowledge.
7. Audio, motion and accessibility
The Service plays synthesised sound and animated visuals, including flashing lights during the show. If you are sensitive to flashing lights or loud sound, lower the volume, mute, or use your device's reduced-motion setting. Tell us if something blocks you from using the Service and we will try to help.
8. Third-party services
The Service loads fonts from Google Fonts and is hosted by Cloudflare. Those providers have their own terms and privacy practices. We may add advertising, payments or other third-party services in the future; if we do, we will update these terms and our Privacy Policy before they go live. Links to other sites are provided for convenience and we are not responsible for them.
9. Future paid features
We may offer optional paid features in the future. Any paid feature will show its price and terms before you buy. Unless the law requires otherwise or the feature says differently, purchases are final.
10. Availability and changes
The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. We may change, pause or discontinue any part of it, including daily puzzles and archive content, at any time, with or without notice. Your saved data lives only in your browser, so clearing your browser data or switching devices will remove it.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE OPERATION. Some places do not allow these exclusions, so they may not apply to you.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE OPERATOR OF RECIDLE.COM WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. BECAUSE THE SERVICE IS FREE, TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (US$100), OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PRIOR 12 MONTHS IF GREATER.
13. Copyright complaints
If you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, email the address below with the page address, a description of the work, and your contact details, and we will review it promptly.
14. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Indiana, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Indiana will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where your local consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
